Westhive

A workplace that works like a community

The founders of Westhive had seen what many modern professionals still have to endure – uninspiring offices and rigid work cultures that stifle creativity. Their answer? A workspace model based on community, flexibility and hospitality. Since launching their first location in Zurich West in 2018, Westhive has grown to become one of Switzerland's leading serviced office providers, proving that modern workspaces can be productive, personal, and purposeful.

From office frustration to founding vision

Bruno, Claus and Andreas – the founding trio – shared a vision of the workplace as more than just a physical space. They imagined an environment where autonomy and collaboration went hand in hand, where people from different industries could share ideas and build something bigger together. Their first space, in a newly renovated office building, embodied this ambition from day one: flooded with natural light, enriched with art and equipped with thoughtfully designed lounges, a full-fledged restaurant and a rooftop terrace.

The idea was not to replace the traditional office, but to reimagine it – adding personality, energy and connectivity.

Refining the offering with each new space

Over the years, Westhive has continued to grow – but always with purpose. Rather than multiplying floorplans, the company focuses on tailoring each new location to its target audience. Whether it is large corporations seeking bespoke office solutions or start-ups looking for plug-and-play flexibility, each Westhive location reflects the local context and specific user needs.

From private office units and fixed desks to project rooms and fully serviced headquarters, the offering is designed to meet the realities of hybrid and agile working.

A service experience rooted in hospitality

What sets Westhive apart is a commitment to service more commonly found in hospitality than office real estate. On-site restaurants, barista-run cafes, community events and concierge-style support are not add-ons – they are an integral part of the experience.

This service-first approach creates a welcoming atmosphere and a strong sense of belonging. It's an environment where productivity is underpinned by comfort and where working life is made more human.

The journey hasn't been without its challenges. Expanding into cities such as Basel, Zug and Geneva required not only logistical finesse, but also cultural sensitivity to maintain Westhive's distinctive identity while adapting to local needs.

The pandemic put the entire flexible office sector to the test – and Westhive was no exception. But the team responded with agility: implementing security measures, reconfiguring space use and staying close to their community. These efforts helped maintain confidence and occupancy, even in times of uncertainty.

What's next: shaping the future of work

Today, Westhive operates a growing network of vibrant, design-led workspaces across Switzerland. Its hybrid-friendly infrastructure, combined with a unique community culture, positions the company well in a world where expectations of work are rapidly evolving.

With a clear brand identity, strong leadership and a proven ability to adapt, Westhive continues to expand, bringing its concept of people-first productivity to new locations and audiences.

And that first space in Zurich where it all started? It's Westhive’s largest location today – and still growing. A reminder that the best ideas are often from conviction– and that the places we work should inspire us, not just equip us.
